This is a personalized, compassionate, and supportive virtual 60-minute consultation designed for dog guardians facing the heart-wrenching decision of having to rehome their dog or considering behavioral euthanasia due to severe behavioral issues.
You'll work with Cathy Madson, a Certified Canine Behavior Consultant with 15 years of experience in helping dogs and their families navigate the complexities of dog behavior. She specializes in dog aggression and anxiety issues.

• Personalized Information: Engage in a one-on-one session focusing entirely on your unique situation, concerns, and questions regarding your dog's behavior. Each session is tailored to provide the most relevant and supportive advice for your circumstances.
• Expert Guidance & Assessment: Cathy brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to every consultation, offering evidence-based insights into dog behavior.
Receive an initial prognosis for your dog's case, including risk factors to consider, ethical considerations, and the likelihood of management and treatment success. Her approach is gentle, understanding, and informed by the latest practices in animal behavior consultation.
• Comprehensive Help: This service covers all facets of the decision-making process, from understanding your dog's behavior and exploring all possible solutions to making informed choices about rehoming or euthanasia. Cathy's goal is to ensure you feel supported and informed every step of the way.
• 2 Weeks Email & Text Support: If you have any questions after your consultation, you have direct access to Cathy via email and text.

Meet Certified Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant Cathy Madson MA, FDM, CBCC-KA, CPDT-KA, FFCP
Cathy offers expert guidance for dog owners through virtual courses, one-on-one virtual coaching, and in-person dog training and behavior consultations in the Seattle, Washington area. She teaches group dog training classes at Seattle Humane in Bellevue, Washington.
With over 15 years of experience working with dogs in shelters, dog daycares, grooming salons, group classes, and private dog training, she has had the opportunity to work with hundreds of dogs and on a wide variety of behavioral challenges. She believes that preventive and proactive training is key to helping dogs live a happy, well-adjusted life with their family.
She has appeared on a variety of local media, such as Q13, King5, Evening, and New Day NW, and frequently interviewed for print magazines and online content as a dog behavior expert.
Cathy is certified through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers, earning both the CPDT-KA and CBCC-KA designations. Cathy is a Family Dog Mediator (FDM), Fear Free Certified Certified Professional (FFCP), a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, the Pet Professional Guild, and Dog Writer's Association of America.

What is your availability?
Virtual sessions are typically available within 1–2 weeks. If you have an urgent case, you can email Cathy at training@pupstandingacademy.com to check her calendar. We can't make any guarantees of sooner availability.
How do I schedule my appointment?
Upon purchasing a training session, you'll be able to immediately schedule your session with Cathy by clicking the link included in your purchase receipt.
Sessions are held via Zoom. You will receive a unique zoom meeting link via email.
Can more than one person participate in the coaching session?
Absolutely. We understand that this can be a difficult topic to discuss. We want to make sure you feel supported, and having a loved one present can be helpful.
However, one-on-one coaching sessions are limited to household members or pre-approved caregivers only (e.g. dog walker or pet sitter).
Refund & Cancellation Policy
While virtual consultations are non-refundable, we do make an exception for dogs that are euthanized prior to a scheduled appointment. If you find yourself in that situation, please email us.
Refunds do not include processing fees.
If you cannot attend your scheduled training session, please reschedule no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled session.
If we do not receive a reschedule notice at least 24 hours before your session, it will be considered a no-show and is non-refundable. Rescheduling requests are limited to once per student per session purchased.
